First look at Toby Jones and Sienna Miller as Alfred Hitchcock and Tippi Hedren in The Girl

There are two Alfred Hitchcock films in the works right now. The first one, titled ALFRED HITCHCOCK AND THE MAKING OF PSYCHO, comes from ANVIL! director Sasha Gervasi and currently has Anthony Hopkins attached to play the legendary rotund filmmaker. As the title suggests, the film focuses on the interesting details surrounding the making of Hitchcock’s seminal 1960 thriller.

The second project, though, is a film called THE GIRL starring Toby Jones (TINKER, TAILOR, SOLDIER, SPY) and Sienna Miller (G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA). Jones can be seen here looking rather mutant-like as ol’ Hitch himself, while Miller is portraying the lovely Tippi Hedren of THE BIRDS and MARNIE fame.

Directed by Julian Jarrold (BECOMING JANE) and written by Gwyneth Hughes for the BBC, the 90-minute drama will focus on the director’s infamously obsessive relationship with Tippi Hedren. In speaking to the Daily Mail, Hedren (who coincidentally is acting as a consultant on THE GIRL) had the following bit of juiciness to spill about The Cock:

“I admired Hitch tremendously for his great talent and still do. Yet, at the same time, I loathed him for his off-set behaviour and the way he came on to me sexually. He was a great director – and he destroyed it all by his behaviour when he got me alone.”

Scandalous!
