It's a little hard not to be excited for the upcoming sci-fi comedy ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING. Directed by Terry Jones from a script he wrote with Gavin Scott, the film follows a high school teacher named Neil (Simon Pegg) who suddenly discovers he has the ability to do anything he wants. Monty Python members Jones, John Cleese, Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam and Michael Palin provide the voices for a group of aliens who gave Neil his powers, and are observing him from space. ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING also stars Kate Beckinsale, Eddie Izzard, Rob Riggle, Meera Syal, Joanna Lumley, Sanjeev Bhaskar and Robin Williams as the voice of Dennis the Dog, however it's still not clear if Williams' voicework will be used in the film.
Empire has a few new images from ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING, including one featuring Simon Pegg looking like he's very disappointed with his sausage.
Even if the Monty Python crew wasn't involved, I'd still be interested in checking out ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING. The film has a fantastic cast, and hopefully Robin Williams did complete his voicework for the comedy. ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING currently doesn't have a U.S. release date, but will likely be in theaters sometime in 2015.
