First look at John Hamm as Archangel Gabriel in Amazon’s Good Omens

Being a fan of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, it is a bit unfortunate that I haven't yet read GOOD OMENS, a collaboration between the two. But I might remedy that fact soon, as the new Amazon show based on it looks like it's going to be a hoot. The story concerns "the birth of the son of Satan, the coming of the End Times. There are attempts by the angel Aziraphale and the demon Crowley to sabotage the coming of the end times, having grown accustomed to their comfortable surroundings in England."

It's also got a great cast lined up, including Michael Sheen as Aziraphale, David Tennant as Crowley, and John Hamm as the Archangel Gabriel. In fact, here's our first official look at Hamm-as-Gabriel:

And here's what Gaiman had to say about Hamm:

Gabriel is everything that Aziraphale isn't: he's tall, good-looking, charismatic and impeccably dressed. We were fortunate that Jon Hamm was available, given that he is already all of these things without even having to act. We were even more fortunate that he's a fan of the books and a remarkable actor.

Couldn't agree more, and can't wait to see him in action!

Meanwhile, GOOD OMENS will premiere on Amazon Prime streaming sometime in 2019.
