Andy Muschietti's new adaptation of Stephen King's IT is currently filming in Canada, and though we've already received a glimpse of Bill Skarsgard's Pennywise, there's one performer who I'm even more excited to see on set. Javier Botet, who has cut a frightening figure in [REC], THE CONJURING 2, THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DOOR, and CRIMSON PEAK, has been glimpsed in a set of behind-the-scenes paparazzi photos.

These pictures show him in costume as Pennywise incarnation The Leper, a diseased homeless man that the character of Eddie encounters under the porch at 29 Neibolt Street. Botet is the best man for the job, and although the costume in the picture looks a little rubbery, the magic of post-production and color correction will certainly pack a punch.

Scripted by Gary Dauberman and Chase Palmer, IT will tell the story of

seven children known as The Losers Club who come face to face with life problems, bullies and a monster that takes the shape of a clown called Pennywise.

Skarsgard's co-stars include Jaeden Lieberher, Finn Wolfhard, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Owen Teague, Nicholas Hamilton, and Javier Botet.

IT part one reaches theatres on September 8, 2017.
