First look at Guillermo del Toro’s Trollhunters Netflix series unveiled

Guillermo del Toro will be getting in on the original content for Netflix later this year when his series TROLLHUNTERS premieres from DreamWorks. Today we're getting a first look at what the show will look like.

A sneak peek image of the series has been release, giving us a heavily backlit look at one of the show's trolls and what I imagine would be one of the hunters referenced in the title. It doesn't really show all that much, except what looks to be a pretty cool flaming sword. However, considering what typically passes as animation for television, TROLLHUNTERS definitely does have a visual flair that you'd expect Del Toro to bring to the table. We'll have to wait to see it all in motion to see how the series may play with audiences of different ages, but it is a pretty nice shot with which to make a first impression.

DreamWorks' TROLLHUNTERS will unleash a new, fantastical world wrapped around the residents of the fictional suburb of Arcadia who make a startling discovery that the world beneath their hometown is as vast and mind-blowing as anything on the surface.
