Filming is now underway for Seth Gordon's (HORRIBLE BOSSES) BAYWATCH, and yesterday Dwayne Johnson posted a behind-the-scenes photo from the set of the upcoming film to his Instagram, featuring himself and co-star Zac Efron. Apparently Johnson's character (Mitch Buchannon) had just finished giving Matt Brody (Efron) "the all important beach speech about what it means to have manly 'Alpha balls,'" and Johnson says Efron's "ad-libbed responses were brilliant!" Johnson also recently posted a photo of the cast (which includes the likes of Alexandra Daddario, Ilfenesh Hadera, Kelly Rohrbach, Priyanka Chopra and Jon Bass) during a table read.
Take a look:
Synopsis:
The story centers on a by-the-book and very serious lifeguard (Johnson) who is forced to team up with a young rule-flouting hothead (Efron) in order to save their beach from environmental destruction at the hands of an oil tycoon.
Gordon is directing the movie from a script by FREDDY VS. JASON and FRIDAY THE 13TH remake scribes Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, and hopefully his action-comedy take on the 1990s television series will be more 21 JUMP STREET and less STARSKY & HUTCH.
BAYWATCH will be in theaters on May 19, 2017.
