First Jinn trailer battles ancient mythological beings

Hitting theaters across North America on April 4th is JINN, a supernatural thriller written and directed by Ajmal Zaheer Ahmad. We've had our eyes set on this one for quite a while so it's nice to finally see it in action, but I gotta say, I'm kind of torn. The first half of the trailer is quite promising as it tells the story of an ancient mythology, all while being coupled with some stunning imagery. But once the second half starts rolling along, it gets so balls deep in crazy CGI that it totally lost me by the end. I'm not sure how I feel about this one just yet, but I'm interested to see what you guys think! Dig the trailer below!

The amazing story of JINN involves ancient mythological beings that have rarely been explored in US cinemas. The premise of the JINN concept, known to over 1 billion people around the world, involves ghost-like entities and revolves around creation mythology.

In the beginning, three were created. Man made of clay. Angels made of light. And a third made of fire. For centuries, stories of angels and men have captured the imagination and been etched into history crossing all boundaries of culture, religion and time. These two races have dominated the landscape of modern mythology, shrouding the evidence that a third was ever created. This third race, born of smokeless fire, was named the Jinn. Modern man has all but forgotten this third race ever existed. It is time for him to remember.

The film, written and directed by Ajmal Zaheer Ahmad was produced by Ahmad, Benjamin Dresser, Alan Noel Vega and stars Dominic Rains (FLIGHT 93), Serinda Swan (“Graceland”), Ray Park (“Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace”), Faran Tahir (ELYSIUM) and William Atherton (DIE HARD).
