First set images from Guillermo Del Toro’s haunted house movie Crimson Peak

While not much supernatural is going on in these set photos from Guillermo Del Toro‘s CRIMSON PEAK, it is definitely nice to see some proof that the director is actually filming one of the numerous projects he claims are in the works. The haunted house movie is now filming in Toronto and the fansite Del Toro Films has compiled a good number of them for your viewing pleasure.

The images give us our first look at the cast in costume including Tom Hiddleston, Charlie Hunnam, Mia Wasikowska, and Jessica Chastain. As you can see from the set photos, CRIMSON PEAK is currently filming in what appears to be a Victorian era setting, a unique locale for any Guillermo Del Toro film. The sets look very specific and should provide for a much different film than PACIFIC RIM. Del Toro has promised CRIMSON PEAK will be a horror film in the tradition of classics like THE HAUNTING and THE INNONCENTS and these photos look like he is on the right track.

CRIMSON PEAK is slated to hit theaters in April 2015.
