Production on The Mandalorian, Jon Favreau's live-action Star Wars TV series, has officially begun! Here's the synopsis which Jon Favreau posted yesterday to give you an idea of what the series will be about: "After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic." StarWars.com posted the first image from the upcoming series which, presumably, shows off the title character. Check it out!
Digging the gunslinger vibe. According to the press-release from Lucasfilm, the series will be written and executive produced by Jon Favreau, with the first episode set to be helmed by Dave Filoni (Star Wars Rebels). Further episodes will be helmed by Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (DOPE), Bryce Dallas Howard (SOLEMATES), and Taika Waititi (THOR: RAGNAROK). Sounds exciting!
