First full trailer for Priest reveals the vampires of the future

I don’t know much about the original Tokyopop series that the PRIEST film is adapting, other than it’s a futuristic world where vampires run amok and warrior “priests” hunt them down. We’ve seen a few pics and clips from the set, but this is the first time we’ve seen any extended footage, and finally we’ve got a real trailer on our hands.

I’m split on what I’m seeing here. I think the world that’s been created is pretty goddamn cool looking, very BLADERUNNER/AKIRA. The cast is solid as well, as I’m a fan of all those casted here including Cam Gigandet, Paul Bettany, Karl Urban and Maggie Q.

But I’m just so sick of goddamn vampires at this point, I’m pre-disposed to be annoyed with that concept. And when I see that most of the vampires are of the poorly CGI-ed, I AM LEGEND variety, that makes things even worse. Lastly, when I learn that this is the team that brought us LEGION, which also had a great trailer, yet it turned out to be complete shit, I’m highly skeptical they’ve acquired that much more filmmaking talent in the last year.
