The first teaser trailer for the
film DEAD CITY (which we first told you about
here) is now online, and while it may lack in visuals I’m definitely
digging the way that director James Kennedy has decided to leave out images and
have the watcher rely more on the audio.
To see (or hear rather) what I’m
talking about, take a peak at the trailer below. Filled with the eerie sounds of
a zombie infested city, and complemented by a typewriter font that’s reminiscent
of the first Resident Evil game, the trailer has given us something different;
which is something that’s totally needed when pushing a zombie flick.
For those not entirely familiar with
DEAD CITY, it combines three tales of zombie mayhem that will culminate
together to give us a full picture of a city plagued by the undead. The first
tale shows 3 survivors who find themselves trapped inside
a movie theatre teaming with the undead. Together they must fight their way out,
or die trying. The second is about a man who comes
home to find he has been kicked out of his house by a suspicious girlfriend. Not
only must he fight off the zombies on his street, but also explain how another
girls phone number got in his pocket. And the final tale in this trilogy
of terror finds us in a sleazy bar for the final act,
where we are about to witness the bar room brawl to end all bar room brawls.
It’s 3 stoner guys and 3 hot college chicks versus a pack of hungry zombie
alcoholics!
It really seems like the guys
putting this thing together, especially director James Kennedy, are quite
passionate about the genre and this project, so I’m guessing this bad boy will
pan out to be pretty cool. So check out the teaser trailer below, and if you
want more on DEAD CITY check them out at both their
official website and their
MySpace page.
