While we patiently wait for footage of the film's femme fatales in action, Elizabeth Banks has recently taken to her personal Instagram account to share a teaser photo from Sony's upcoming reboot of CHARLIE'S ANGELS. In the photo, an unseen character holds both the front and back portions of the new Townsend Agency's contemporary business card aloft for all to see. In looking at the back of the card, we can see a list of locations, which I'd wager is an indication as to where the agency has chosen to set up shop, since going global for the new film initiative.

When the Angels return to work for Banks' reboot, the film will star Kristen Stewart (AMERICAN ULTRA), Naomi Scott (POWER RANGERS), and Ella Balinska as the movie's titular trifecta. Appearing alongside the project's leading ladies are Noah Centineo (SIERRA BURGESS IS A LOSER), Jonathan Tucker (THE RUINS, SLEEPERS), Sam Claflin (ME BEFORE YOU, ADRIFT), Djimon Hounsou (AQUAMAN, KING ARTHUR: LEGEND OF THE SWORD), Elizabeth Banks (THE HUNGER GAMES franchise, LOVE & MERCY), as well as the legendary Sir Patrick Stewart (STAR TREK, LOGAN). Co-writing the script for the film are NARCOS alums Doug Mito and Carlo Bernard.
Back when my parents were raising hell, CHARLIE'S ANGELS was a television crime drama that ran from 1976-1981 starring Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, and Jaclyn Smith. The series centered on three highly-skilled femme fatales getting up to an outrageous assortment of super spy shenanigans, with each mission calling for them to tap into their unique set of skills to win the day. The female-centric series was later rebooted in 2000 by director McG for a double-tap of films starring Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu.
Banks' film is expected to present the Angels initiative as a worldwide endeavor, with the potential for sequels focusing on different groups of agents around the globe. The film is slated for a November 1. 2019 release, a spot previously occupied by Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman sequel, WONDER WOMAN 1984. Suit up, Angels, it's almost time to go to work.
