Finding Dory will swim home on Blu-ray this November

Simply put, the Blu-ray release for what is now that biggest animated movie at the domestic box office, FINDING DORY, is somewhat anticipated. I don't know, something about animated fish gets people pumped.

An announcement has put the release date for the Blu-ray at November 15 with a digital release October 25. The option for Blu-ray buyers will include either a 3D Blu-ray/Blu-ray/DVD/Digital HD copy, or a Blu-ray/DVD/Digital HD copy, for those who don’t want the extra 3D disc. But, if you don't buy the former, you won't be considered an "ultimate collector". Do you really want to put your reputation on the line?

The bountiful list of special features includes:

Theatrical Short: “Piper” – A hungry sandpiper hatchling ventures from her nest for the first time to dig for food by the shoreline. The only problem is that the food is buried beneath the sand where scary waves roll up onto the shore.

The movie obliterated the box office, becoming the seventh biggest movie ever in America and dethroning the long-reigning animated champ, SHREK 2. Not only did it dethrone SHREK 2, it now sits on the throne drinking Shrek’s blood from Donkey’s skull. That’s what happens when nostalgia and Pixar combine forces. I personally didn't like the film enough to spend that kind of money on it, but that's not gonna stop this movie from dominating the Blu-ray charts, too. The last animated movie to cross $400 million at the box office, FROZEN, went on to become the highest selling Blu-ray of all time. So this one may prove ample competition, if only because parents will be trying to stop their screaming children as they walk by the display stand.
