Spoiler alert! Although most of us have been eagerly awaiting the release of LOGAN, it's also a little sad knowing that Hugh Jackman's time as the character will have come to an end. The first screenings of the James Mangold flick have been rolling out this evening and it seems that we have a special treat in store for us. There were rumours last week that LOGAN would have a post-credit sequence, but James Mangold quickly denied those claims. However, it seemed that something had been added to the film as its running time received an extension of a few minutes after the press-screenings. Turns out, it was for the secret teaser which played before LOGAN. To be honest, it's probably something which is best saved for the theater, but if you really want to know all about it, scroll on down, just be warned, there will be spoilers.
Remember when there were rumblings of Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) making a cameo in LOGAN? Those were quickly put to rest by James Mangold, but rumours persisted that Reynolds was involved with something connected to LOGAN. That something wasn't a post-credit scene or anything of that nature, but rather wound up being our first teaser trailer for the sequel to DEADPOOL! As the DEADPOOL team is still working on putting together the script, it's certainly surprising that we'd be getting a teaser so early, but hey, this is Deadpool we're talking about. The teaser will be attached to all U.S. prints of LOGAN and if you'd like to go further down the rabbit hole and read a description of the teaser, well, I'm sure you know what to do. Scroll that shit down!
The DEADPOOL 2 teaser begins with Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) walking down the street wearing a hoody when he passes by an alley in which two men are arguing as one attempts to mug the other. As Wade isn't suited up as Deadpool at the moment, he quickly rushes over to a nearby phone booth (with John Williams' Superman theme playing) to change into his suit.
However, Wade isn't able to get into his suit quite as quickly as he hoped (at one point his butt-cheeks are pressed firmly against the glass, you're welcome) and in the time it takes him to get dressed, the mugger has killed the man and run off. Now dressed in his Deadpool costume but with no one left to save, he lays down next to the corpse and rummage's through the man's grocery bag before pulling out a bucket of Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia, which he then eats as he speaks to the corpse. And there you have it!
LOGAN is now playing in theaters, so make sure to check out reviews from our own Chris Bumbray and Eric Walkuski! As for DEADPOOL 2, that much anticipated sequel won't be hitting theaters until 2018.
