If the title THE GRACEFIELD INCIDENT sounds familiar to you, it may be because we first heard of writer/director Matthieu Ratthe's found footage alien invasion project more than three years ago, when we shared the first trailer for the film.
It's been a long wait, but THE GRACEFIELD INCIDENT is finally making its way out into the world on July 21st, when Momentum Pictures will be releasing it in select theatres and on VOD and Digital HD. To help get you prepared for this event, we have shared the film's latest trailer below.
Although its production probably predates the release of V/H/S/2, the concept of THE GRACEFIELD INCIDENT basically sounds like a mash-up of two different segments from that anthology film: the found footage showing the alien invasion is shot through a camera inside a man's prosthetic eye.
Matthew Donovan, a video game editor, embeds an iPhone camera into his prosthetic eye to secretly record and document a weekend with friends in a luxurious mountain top cabin. The weekend takes a terrifying turn when a meteorite crashes the party forcing everyone to face the darkest, screaming nightmare while somehow connecting life, love, and loss in a twist of fear.
Ratthe stars in the film alongside Kimberly Laferriere, Victor Andres Turgeon-Trelles, Juliette Gosselin, Alexandre Nachi, and Laurence Dauphinais.
My interest in anything takes a nosedive as soon as I hear that it's found footage, but I'll still give any movie a chance if it stirs up good word of mouth. I'll be interested in hearing what the general reaction to GRACEFIELD is when it's released in eleven days.
