Final Knives Out trailer makes good use of the film’s rave reviews

We've got less than a month to go until the release of Rian Johnson's star-studded mystery film KNIVES OUT, and Lionsgate has released a new trailer which gets a lot of mileage out of the rave reviews which the film has received. Currently sitting at 98% on Rotten Tomatoes, if you care about such things, KNIVES OUT is a contemporary whodunnit in the vein of Agatha Christie which stars Daniel Craig (NO TIME TO DIE) as Beniot Blanc, a detective who is tasked with solving the murder of renowned crime novelist Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer).

Our own Chris Bumbray was one of the many who loved the film upon its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival, saying that "it’s unlikely anything will come out this year that’s quite as much fun as KNIVES OUT. A classic “whodunit”, albeit one that’s been given a thoroughly modern face-lift, this is the rare star-driven, adult piece of entertainment that’s not being geared towards winning any awards, but rather is hellbent on showing its audience a good time." You can check out the rest of Bumbray's review right here. Although it obviously depends on how well the film performs, Rian Johnson has already said that he'd be down for a follow-up film featuring Daniel Craig's character. "I’ll tell you, the truth is I had such a great time working with Daniel Craig and I had so much fun doing this on every level, from writing it to making it," Johnson said. "I’ve never really been interested in doing sequels, but this, the idea of doing more of these with Daniel as his character, is not sequels. It’s just what Agatha Christie did. It’s just coming up with a whole new mystery, a whole new location, all new cast, whole new mechanics of the appeal of a mystery and everything. It’d be a blast."

The official synopsis for KNIVES OUT:

Acclaimed writer and director Rian Johnson (Brick, Looper, The Last Jedi) pays tribute to mystery mastermind Agatha Christie in KNIVES OUT, a fun, modern-day murder mystery where everyone is a suspect. When renowned crime novelist Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer) is found dead at his estate just after his 85th birthday, the inquisitive and debonair Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) is mysteriously enlisted to investigate. From Harlan’s dysfunctional family to his devoted staff, Blanc sifts through a web of red herrings and self-serving lies to uncover the truth behind Harlan’s untimely death. With an all-star ensemble cast including Chris Evans, Ana De Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Don Johnson, Michael Shannon, Toni Collette, LaKeith Stanfield, Katherine Langford and Jaeden Martell, KNIVES OUT is a witty and stylish whodunit guaranteed to keep audiences guessing until the very end.

KNIVES OUT will hit theaters on November 27, 2019.
