So apparently OUIJA, the film based on the board game about summoning spirits, has been quite finicky about what directorial vision it’s going to settle on. Filmmakers such as Sylvain White (THE LOSERS), Pierre Morel (TAKEN), Scott Stewart (LEGION), and John Moore (MAX PAYNE) have all made presentations that have failed to impress Universal. Who’s next in line?
According to THR’s Heat Vision, directors McG (THIS MEANS WAR, TERMINATOR SALVATION) and Breck Eisner (THE CRAZIES, SAHARA) are the latest to submit pitches for the feature film adaptation. Though nothing is yet known about the plot of the film, it has been described as “a four-quadrant supernatural adventure centering around a family, with influences from The Mummy and Indiana Jones.” OUIJA’s script comes courtesy of TRON: LEGACY guys Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz.
Universal will likely be making a decision on a director soon, as the film is already set for a November 9, 2012 release.
