For those who aren't familiar with the subject material, DOCTOR SLEEP is a sequel to Stephen King's THE SHINING, which depicts a now adult Danny Torrance, who meets a young girl possessing similiar powers to the ones he displayed while caught within the haunted confines of the Overlook Hotel. Now, with a cult known as The True Knots hot on their trail, Dan does his best to protect his young new friend, but it's only a matter of time before they come face to face with the men who seek to use her powers in order to gain immortality.
Today, Flanagan announced via his Facebook page that filming has officially wrapped on his adaptation.
The cast for DOCTOR SLEEP includes Ewan McGregor (TRAINSPOTTING), Alex Essoe (STARRY EYES), Jacob Tremblay (ROOM), Rebecca Ferguson (MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – FALLOUT), Bruce Greenwood (GERALD'S GAME), Catherine Parker (THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE), Emily Alyn Lind (THE BABYSITTER), Jocelin Donahue (HOUSE OF THE DEVIL), Carl Lumbly (MEN OF HONOR), Zahn McClarnon (WESTWORLD), Carel Struycken (THE ADDAMS FAMILY), Robert Longstreet (SORRY TO BOTHER YOU), Chelsea Talmadge (STRANGER THINGS) and Selena Anduze (VENOM).
JoBlo was lucky enough to visit the set of DOCTOR SLEEP, and we will have more coverage up soon.
Given Flanagan's previous work on GERALD'S GAME, I'd say this rendering of Stephen King's beloved novel is in good hands. What do y'all think? Are you excited for this movie? Sound off in the comments section below and let us know!
