Will Dimension Films finally be letting the long-delayed AMITYVILLE: THE AWAKENING escape out into the world next month?
That's what Entertainment Weekly says is going to happen. The website has shared a clip from the film, which is embedded below, along with the information that AMITYVILLE: THE AWAKENING will be making its debut exclusively on Google Play on October 12th. The movie will only be available on there for a limited time, but it will be free to watch while it is on there.
Dimension will then, supposedly, be giving the film a limited theatrical release on October 28th – bad news is – it will be the PG-13 cut..
Filmed in 2014, THE AWAKENING was originally supposed to come out way back in January of 2015.
Directed by Franck Khalfoun (P2, the MANIAC remake), the film has the following synopsis:
Belle, her little sister, and her comatose twin brother move into a new house with their single mother Joan in order to save money to help pay for her brother’s expensive healthcare. But when strange phenomena begin to occur in the house including the miraculous recovery of her brother, Belle begins to suspect her Mother isn’t telling her everything and soon realizes they just moved into the infamous Amityville house.
Jennifer Jason Leigh, Bella Thorne, McKenna Grace, Cameron Monaghan, Kurtwood Smith, Taylor Spreitler, Thomas Mann, and Jennifer Morrison star.
We've heard several release dates for this movie over the last couple years, but with October 12th just three weeks away here's hoping that these dates will actually stick.
