Ferrera’s 2nd Pants

ABC’s “Ugly Betty”, with its deliciously multi-ethnic soapy celebration of all things unpretty, has turned America Ferrera into a champion of the “common folk” and a veritable star. Realizing this, the company behind the coming-of-age tween-geared apparel-based drama THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS, Alcon Entertainment, is doing what any self-respecting production company would do when a previously relatively obscure actress from one of their moderately successful “girl power” dramas suddenly skyrockets to stardom – milk that shit for all it’s worth! As such, Alcon is exercising the sequel clause in Ferrera’s contract and, along with Warner Bros., are fast-tracking a sequel that they’re forcing strongly encouraging her to star in along with her original co-stars Amber Tamblyn, Alexis Bledel and Blake Lively. What’s more, in an effort to ensure Ferrera is billed as the clear star of the film, Warner Bros. and Alcon are vying to change Ferrera’s co-stars’ names to Other Girl 1, Other Girl 2 and Other Girl 3 and have given the film a tentative title of SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS 2: UGLY IS THE NEW PRETTY.
