Fede Alvarez to direct The Shining in the White House flick

DON'T BREATHE and EVIL DEAD director Fede Alvarez has been on a roll lately. We just passed along word not an hour ago that his upcoming THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE reboot has snagged its screenwriter. And now we have word that the filmmaker will be taking on a new untilted horror movie described as THE SHINING IN THE WHITE HOUSE. Who needs to bother to think of a better title than that, right? 

Plot details are being kept under wraps regarding the Washington, D.C.-based horror film written by Joe Epstein. But, really, do we need to know anymore? I don't think so. How excited are you for Fede Alvarez's THE SHINING IN THE WHITE HOUSE? Let us know below!

I wonder if this will be more blood, guts, and gore Fede Alvarez ala EVIL DEAD or more subtle suspense-driven Fede Alvarez ala DON'T BREATHE. How about a movie that's first half is all DON'T BREATHE but then explodes into EVIL DEAD level violence by the final act. Sounds good to me!

Three Detroit thieves, Rocky (Jane Levy), Alex and Money who get their kicks by breaking into the houses of wealthy people. Money gets word about a blind veteran who won a major cash settlement following the death of his only child. Figuring he's an easy target, the trio invades the man's secluded home in an abandoned neighborhood. Finding themselves trapped inside, the young intruders must fight for their lives after making a shocking discovery about their supposedly helpless victim.

Fede Alvarez directed DON'T BREATHE from a screenplay he co-wrote with Rodo Sayagues. Alvarez also produced the film along with Sam Raimi and Robert Tapert. It starred Jane Levy (EVIL DEAD), Dylan Minnette (GOOSEBUMPS), Daniel Zovatto (IT FOLLOWS), and Stephen Lang (AVATAR) as The Blind Man.
