One of the most talked about films of the year is Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi’s WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS, a vampire comedy that follows three flatmates who are just trying to get by and overcome life's obstacles-like being immortal vampires who must feast on human blood. Just yesterday we shared with you guys the film’s opening scene, offering 6 minutes of footage; check that out HERE.
What’s on tap today, however, is some official release date news as the film is set to hit theaters in New York and Los Angeles this February 13, 2015. While it’s not much of a release, it’s nice to see this one finally falling under an audience. I'd imagine a VOD release will follow shortly after.
In the film, an endearingly unhip quartet of friends reveal to us or, rather, to the documentary crew that’s filming them, the details of their daily—make that nightly—routine. Ranging in age from 183 to 8,000, and in appearance from adorably youthful to Nosferatu-crusty, they squabble over household chores, struggle to keep up with the latest trends in technology and fashion, antagonize the local werewolves, cruise clubs for lovely ladies, and deal with the rigors of living on a very, very strict diet.
WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS stars Clement, Waititi, Jonathon Brugh, Cori Gonzalez-Macuer, and Stu Rutherford.
