It's hard to beat good slow-burning spy thriller and John le Carré can definitely deliver in that regard. The latest adaptation of the author's work will come in the form of the upcoming BBC/AMC mini-series The Little Drummer Girl, based upon the novel of the same name. The mini-series follows Charlie (Florence Pugh), a brilliant young actress who meets an Israeli intelligence agent known as Becker (Alexander Skarsgård) while on vacation in Greece. Becker then entangles her in a high stakes plot orchestrated by Kurtz, a Spymaster played by the great Michael Shannon. A new featurette for the upcoming series has been released in which the cast and creators discuss bringing the deception, romance, and political tension of John Le Carré's novel to life.

The official synopsis for The Little Drummer Girl:

The Little Drummer Girl weaves an explosive story of espionage and international intrigue; of love and betrayal. Brilliant young actress Charlie (Pugh) strikes up an acquaintance with an intriguing stranger while on vacation in Greece, but it rapidly becomes apparent that his intentions are far from romantic.  The man is Becker (Skarsgård), an Israeli intelligence officer, who entangles her in a complex and high stakes plot orchestrated by Spymaster, Kurtz (Shannon).

The Little Drummer Girl will debut in the U.S. on AMC with a two-hour episode on November 19, 2018, with additional two-hour episodes airing on consecutive nights on November 20th and 21st.
