Fear the Walking Dead season 5 trailer makes the world a better place

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Or at least it tries to. The upcoming fifth season of Fear the Walking Dead will find Morgan Jones (Lennie James) and his group seeking to locate fellow survivors of the zombie apocalypse and make the world a slightly better place, but that's easier said than done. It's been well over a season since I last caught up with The Walking Dead spin-off, so most of the characters featured in this rather lengthy trailer for the fifth season are new to me. The trailer also reveals the first footage of another actor from the main series who has followed Lennie James over to the spin-off, but I'll leave that as a surprise for those of you who can stick through the entire trailer.

The official synopsis for the fifth season of Fear the Walking Dead:

In Fear the Walking Dead Season 5, the group’s mission is clear: locate survivors and help make what’s left of the world a slightly better place. With dogged determination, Morgan Jones (James) leads the group with a philosophy rooted in benevolence, community and hope. Each character believes that helping others will allow them to make up for the wrongs of their pasts. But trust won’t be easily earned. Their mission of helping others will be put to the ultimate test when our group finds themselves in uncharted territory, one which will force them to face not just their pasts but also their fears. It is only through facing those fears that the group will discover an entirely new way to live, one that will leave them forever changed.

Fear the Walking Dead will return to AMC on June 2, 2019.
