Dick Wolf's FBI franchise at CBS is going to continue to expand. The network has not only renewed FBI for a fourth season and FBI: Most Wanted for a third season, but they have also given a series order to a second spinoff called FBI: International. The new spinoff series will debut in a crossover episode of FBI and FBI: Most Wanted next season.
Kelly Kahl, President of CBS Entertainment, had this to say about the renewals and the new spinoff:
"FBI is the fastest growing brand on television and our partner Dick Wolf has found yet another creative way to expand its universe. FBI: International is an intriguing and distinct drama that perfectly complements its compelling siblings, FBI and FBI: Most Wanted, creating an enviable triple-threat for next season that will fit seamlessly across our network lineup."
FBI: International will follow an elite group of agents of the FBI's International division as they travel the world with the mission of protecting Americans wherever they may be. The parent series, FBI, follows a New York-based unit of special agents who bring to bear all their talents, intellect, and technical expertise on major cases in order to keep New York and the country safe. FBI stars Missy Peregrym, Zeeko Zaki, Jeremy Sisto, Alana De La Garza, John Boyd, and Katherine Renee Turner.
FBI: Most Wanted raises the stakes by following the Fugitive Task Force, a unit that relentlessly pursues and captures the notorious criminals on the Bureau's Most Wanted list. The show stars Julian McMahon, Kellan Lutz, Rosy Sternberg, Keisha Castle-Hughes, Nathaniel Arcand, and Miguel Gomez.
It should come as no surprise that CBS has renewed both FBI series for a new season and given a series order to a new spinoff. The network is the king of procedural programming and FBI is currently drawing over 11 million viewers every week and ranks as television's No. 3 drama. FBI also ranks as Dick Wolf's highest-rated show on any network, including his other popular shows on NBC such as Law & Order: SVU, Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, and Chicago Med. FBI: Most Wanted drew over 8.8 million viewers during its second season and last season it was the No. 1 new drama on television.
