Oh hai Schmoes, we'd like to dedicate this next bit of news to all you Tommy Wiseau fans out there, as this is sure to be a treat for those who enjoy the cinematic stylings of one of Hollywood's most mysterious filmmakers. This afternoon, Fathom Events has announced that they'll be hosting special screenings of BEST F(R)IENDS: VOLUME TWO, a stand-alone feature and can be enjoyed independently of the first film. In addition to viewing the feature content, attendees will also see exclusive behind-the-scenes footage and outtakes.
In case you have no idea what we're talking about, BEST F(R)IENDS: VOLUME ONE is an independent film from Tommy Wiseau and Greg Sestero of THE ROOM fame. Here's the logline for the movie: When a drifter befriends a quirky mortician, an unlikely business partnership is formed. Paranoia soon develops, however, and both men are forced to come to terms with the fragility of friendship and loyalty. The quirky comedic thriller hit theaters last Spring, and was inspired by a road trip made by Sestero and Wiseau after the production of THE ROOM in April 2003.
BEST F(R)IENDS: VOLUME TWO follows Sestero’s drifter as he makes a run for it. He finds himself on an expedition across the Southwest, where he encounters wild and crazy characters through a series of twisted and dark foibles. While his misadventure teaches him a valuable lesson about friendship and loyalty, Wiseau’s mortician carries the story home with more than a few surprises.
"Of all the creative experiences I’ve had with Tommy, I think ‘Best F(r)iends: Volume Two’ might be the craziest,” said Sestero. “It’s a stand-alone film that truly sums up our 20-year friendship."
Fathom Events will host BEST F(R)IENDS: VOLUME TWO Friday, June 1st and Monday, June 4th, 8:00 p.m. local time (both days). Tickets for the event can be purchased in advance via FathomEvents.com or participating theater box offices.
