Fathom Events to host an 80th Anniversary Batman movie marathon

Quick, someone cue up Danny Elfman's iconic Batman theme and start organizing all your wonderful toys, because Batman is returning to theaters! Fathom Events has announced that they'll be bringing the Caped Crusader's heroic adventures back to the big screen as part of DC's Batman 80th anniversary. As per the details, the World's Greatest Detective will swoop onto screens this May, for a nationwide celebration that includes screenings of Tim Burton's BATMAN and BATMAN RETURNS, as well as Joel Schumacher's BATMAN & ROBIN and BATMAN FOREVER.

When the Dark Knight returns, he'll be doing so on a total of 600 screens nationwide, over the course of four days.

Here's the official schedule for Fathom's 80th Batman Anniversary Event:

·      “Batman” (1989) – Saturday, May 4, 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. (all times are local)

·      “Batman Returns” (1992) – Monday, May 6, 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

·      “Batman Forever” (1995) – Sunday, May 12, 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

·      “Batman & Robin” (1997) – Tuesday, May 14, 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

“The cycle of ‘Batman’ films that began with Tim Burton’s big-screen classic thirty years ago this summer is an amazing group of films that helped usher in an exciting new era of moviemaking,” said Fathom Events Vice President of Studio Relations Tom Lucas. “We’re honored Warner Bros. has turned to Fathom Events to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Batman with these iconic superhero films.”

What's also rather Bat-tastic about this event is that it also marks the 30th anniversary of Tim Burton's BATMAN starring Michael Keaton, Jack Nicholson and Kim Basinger. BATMAN was the top grossing film of 1989, a success that led to three sequels, all of which are a part of Batsy's "original" theatrical run.

Tickets to each of the four “Batman” films are available beginning today at FathomEvents.com or at participating theater box offices.
