Fast X – Part 2: Vin Diesel teases the next entry with concept art and announces the release date

As theatrical release windows get shorter, the latest example is the recent sequel to the chaotic car series Fast X, as it makes its way onto digital release today. Fast X is the start of a planned two-part finale (although the studio now wants more), and Fast X – Part 2 is set to conclude the war between Dom and Dante. Vin Diesel has recently taken to his Instagram to tease the next installment with concept art and announced the release date of Part 2 to be set for April 4, 2025.

The concept art features two female characters bundled up in cold weather fatigues as they lay exhausted on the frozen tundra. A second pic features one of the characters walking to a grounded helicopter. Fast X featured a subplot in which Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) and Cipher (Charlize Theron) escape a facility in Antarctica. The photos imply a continuation of this plot; however, the women in the art do not seem to resemble the actresses. The captions on these photos simply say, “Part 2…” and “4.4.25.”

Additionally, Diesel posted a behind-the-scenes photo of him and Jason Momoa on set with a lengthier text explaining the series of posts. Diesel refers to Momoa’s scene-stealing performance, and interestingly, this post comes off the heels of a rumored negative reaction Diesel was said to have had against Momoa’s over-the-top character — blaming it for the poor critical reception of the film.

Diesel’s post reads,
“April 4th 2025… is less than 22 months away.
I love how expressive and collaborative all of the actors in our franchise feel coming into the World’s Saga. Jason wanted to try something totally unique and special and ended up creating a scene stealing character that the world won’t forget. Thank you all for showing up like you always do…. 7 billion means nothing if it doesn’t represent the true feeling of family and loyalty.
For those who didn’t know the FastX was just part one, know that part two is going to be an effort from our fast family and studio like you have never seen.

As the face of the Fast & Furious franchise, Diesel has been adamant about reaching at least eleven films in total to honor his late friend and series co-star, Paul Walker. Walker had once made an off-handed, whimsical comment in the past about the studio probably letting them get to Fast 11 when the success of the series was at its peak.
