The Fast and The Furious franchise is all about family and that narrative hit home in a very emotional way after the untimely passing of franchise star, Paul Walker. The actor died in a tragic car accident before he could finish filming Furious 7 but the actor's family came together with the Fast family to complete the film and give a fitting tribute to Paul Walker and his character Brian O'Conner. Walker's character continues to be honored in the franchise as his spirit is still very much with the crew that comes together to keep this franchise alive. Now Vin Diesel is hinting that the franchise may welcome a legacy in Paul Walker's daughter in the future installments.
While promoting Fast & Furious 9, Diesel was being interviewed by E! News when he was asked about the continued legacy of Paul Walk in the franchise. Diesel recounted the tragedy of Walker's death and the mourning period that everyone went through in the wake of his passing by saying, "the studio accepted a bold decision, which was to allow the character to exist in our mythology." Following this statement, the subject of Meadow Walker, Paul's daughter, potentially joining the franchise was brought up, and while Diesel was a bit hesitant to answer, he did eventually muster up a response by saying "I would not count anything out. Let me just, without giving you all of the secrets of Fast 10, let's just say, nothing's ruled out."
Diesel's initial hesitation to answer is understandable considering Meadow is his goddaughter and he's VERY protective of the Walker family. If you follow the Fast family on Instagram and some of the Walker family, they consistently express being family that doesn't need to be connected by blood. This underlying sense of genuine family connections has been one of the main reasons the franchise has continued to thrive. True fans of the series can feel it and it resonates. If Meadow was to get involved, it wouldn't be the first time the extended Walker family got involved with the franchise. Paul's brothers, Cody and Caleb Walker stepped in as stand-ins for their late brother on Furious 7 so his remaining scenes could be completed. The family's blessing was the driving force in getting Furious 7 completed in a timely manner and both brothers have expressed how finishing that film helped them positively grieve for Paul.
Meadow doesn't have any acting credits but she is a model who is pretty active on Instagram. At the end of the day, it will be up to her if she wants to pop in to pay some kind of tribute to her father but with the entire Fast family behind her, I'm sure she will feel 100% comfortable if she ever wants to leave more of the Walker legacy on the franchise.
