Fast & Furious: Vin Diesel confirms Cardi B is returning for Fast 10

It looks like Cardi B is sticking with the Fast family. The rapper and sometimes-actress has a cameo role in Fast & Furious 9 and Vin Diesel has confirmed that will expand into a larger role when Cardi B returns in Fast 10.

Diesel confirmed the news of Cardi B's return during a chat with Entertainment Tonight. Diesel said, "We are very much excited to evolve her character and to expand it to the finale. She made it just in time. She came in Fast 9 just in time." Cardi B appears in Fast 9 as a character named Leysa, who has a connection to Vin Diesel's Dominic Toretto. The rapper actually hinted at her Fast 10 role in an interview from the set of Fast 9:

"Well, my management said Vin Diesel reached out and was talking about a role that on the next Fast & Furious would become a bigger role, and I'm like, 'Ahhhh, why not?'"

Cardi B's most notable big-screen appearance was in 2019's Hustlers. Cardi B has a handful of scenes in that film and was actually pretty decent in it. She went on to explain how the Fast crew lured into the ninth film by saying "I was a little over doing short appearances in films, and I'm like, 'it's frickin' Fast & Furious,' so I was like, 'Get me there. Put me on a plane.'"

Something about this just feels right and I'm here for it. How many movies can say they have Helen Mirren and Cardi B? It's a beautiful distinction that just adds to the reasons I love this franchise.
