A new trailer for Fast & Furious 9 has dropped and it gives us another action-packed look at the ninth installment of the popular franchise.
Fast & Furious 9 has been repeatedly delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic but its current June 25, 2021, release date looks like it's going to stick this time around. The trailer comes a day after a series of character motion posters were released from the film to show each member of the cast looking like they're ready for this ninth ride with the franchise. Coming back for all of the action for this go-round is Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Sung Kang, Tyrese Gibson, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Ludacris, Charlize Theron, and John Cena. You can read the official synopsis for the film below:
"Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto is leading a quiet life off the grid with Letty and his son, little Brian, but they know that danger always lurks just over their peaceful horizon. This time, that threat will force Dom to confront the sins of his past if he’s going to save those he loves most. His crew joins together to stop a world-shattering plot led by the most skilled assassin and high-performance driver they’ve ever encountered: a man who also happens to be Dom’s forsaken brother, Jakob (John Cena).
The trailer was full of other highlights as well. From Dom watching a video of Brian (the late Paul Walker) with his son to the return of Bow Wow as Twinkie from Tokyo Drift, this new look really gives the impression that they're setting up this final chapter that begins with this film and continues with the last two chapters. Never thought this franchise would get this far but purely for my popcorn entertainment I'm glad it did.
