Fast and Furious 10: Jason Momoa confirms he’ll be playing the villain

It was revealed back in January that Jason Momoa was in talks to join the Fast and Furious franchise. While speaking with Entertainment Tonight on the red-carpet premiere for The Batman, Jason Momoa said that he would appear in Fast and Furious 10 and confirmed that he would be playing the villain, something he’s rarely done in his career.

It’s fun, I get to play the bad guy, which I haven’t gotten to do for a while. Now, I get to be the bad boy. A very flamboyant bad boy. A little panache!

After spending so many movies playing the hero, it might be nice for Jason Momoa to embrace his villainous side for Fast and Furious 10. The movie is expected to be filmed back-to-back with another sequel that will wrap up the Fast Saga with Justin Lin returning to direct from a script by Chris Morgan

The tenth installment of the long-running franchise will once again see the recent of Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, and Sung Kang. It’s also expected that Charlize Theron will also return as Cipher, but there is one person who won’t be back for this latest Fast and Furious movie. Dwayne Johnson’s feud with Vin Diesel is well publicized by this point and the actor said that there was “no chance” he would return to the franchise after Diesel’s public plea that he do so. “I told [Diesel] directly that I would not be returning to the franchise,” Johnson said. “I was firm yet cordial with my words and said that I would always be supportive of the cast and always root for the franchise to be successful, but that there was no chance I would return. Vin’s recent public post was an example of his manipulation. I didn’t like that he brought up his children in the post, as well as Paul Walker’s death. Leave them out of it. We had spoken months ago about this and came to a clear understanding.

Jason Momoa will next be seen in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which is slated to hit theaters on December 16, 2022. Fast and Furious 10 will star shooting this spring in London for a premiere on May 19, 2023.
