After his little trip to Planet Zero, Toby Kebbell must be hoping to take a voyage to greener pastures as THR reports that the FANTASTIC FOUR actor is in negotiations to join the cast of KONG: SKULL ISLAND. Toby Kebbell would join Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, and Corey Hawkins in the film but, much like the others, the specifics of his character is being kept under wraps.
Jordan Vogt-Roberts will take the director's chair of KONG: SKULL ISLAND and Derek Connolly, co-writer of JURASSIC WORLD, recently stepped in to perform some last minute touch-ups on the script for the film which is looking to begin production in Hawaii by late October. The film follows "a team of explorers who venture into the mysterious, creature-laden isle that is also the home of the king of the apes," and is scheduled for a March 10, 2017 release. In addition to Toby Kebbell some of the other names said to be up for roles are Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Wilkinson, and John C. Reilly.
Despite the epic disaster which FANTASTIC FOUR became, it's nice to know that its failure hasn't destroyed the careers of its talented young cast; however, I'm not sure if I can say the same for Josh Trank. Yeesh. Should Kebbell finalize his deal, this wouldn't be his first experience with CG apes, the actor performed motion-capture for Koba in DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES.
