Fantasia Fest calls for audience submissions for the 2013 poster art

Here’s something very cool for the artists and designers out there. The organizers of the Fantasia International Film Festival are launching a contest to define the concept of the official 2013 festival artwork, and they’re calling upon the general public to submit poster concepts or ideas.

The festival team will choose the winning concept, which will be executed by Donald Caron. The artist has created many artworks for Fantasia over the years (examples of his work can be seen at donaldcaron.daportfolio.com). The creator of the winning concept will earn a pair of VIP passes for the 2013 edition of Fantasia.

Fantasia is not imposing any strict guidelines regarding the theme or artistic direction of the poster, but it should be kept in mind that the concept needs to be appropriate for all ages, as it will be posted in public spaces.

The winner and artwork will be announced within the launch of the 2013 edition. Send your concepts to 2013art@fantasiafestival.com. The submission deadline is March 1st, 2013.

The 17th edition of the Fantasia International Film Festival will occur from July 18 to August 6, 2013. For more information, visit their website at www.fantasiafestival.com.
