The good news: On Set Cinema is hosting a camping experience at Camp Daniel Morgan in Rutledge, Georgia, the camp where 1986's JASON LIVES: FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VI was filmed, and as part of the experience they will be screening the movie in the same spot where horror icon Jason Voorhees did some stalking and slashing more than thirty years ago.
The bad news for those of us who haven't already secured our tickets to this event: it's completely sold out.
Even though the tickets have already been snatched up and most of us can only daydream of being there, this is still an awesome event worth taking notice of. Here's the official description of what will be going on out there in the woods:
Get ready campers! ON SET CINEMA is taking you to Camp Blood this summer for the ultimate “Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives” event! Fri-Sun, August 9-11, 2019 – Kill or be killed at Camp Daniel Morgan (aka Camp Crystal Lake) at Hard Labor Creek State Park in Rutledge, Georgia where the majority of JASON LIVES was filmed – see where Sheriff Mike Garris gets bent completely in half by Jason, walk on the pier where Officer Thornton gets a dart to the forehead, hang out in the cabin where Sissy gets snatched out of the window and her head twisted off, or swim in the lake where Tommy fights Jason during the movie’s climatic ending!
Fans will enjoy an entire weekend of summer camp – shared cabin camping with bunk beds, games (egg toss, corn hole, flashlight tag, board games, Nintendo and more!), campfires with friends, roasting marshmallows and making s’mores, watching VHS horror movies on tube TVs, swimming and canoeing in Crystal Lake, and of course a complimentary big screen showing of Friday the 13th Part VI on Saturday night!! …but remember campers, no sneaking off into the woods to have sex or do drugs because Jason will be watching! …Ki Ki Ki Ma Ma Ma …Ki Ki Ki Ma Ma Ma…
I have always loved the look of the locations in JASON LIVES, so I'm sure it's going to be a lot of fun to hang out around the actual camp and get to watch the movie there. The fans who will be attending this event are very lucky, and I hope they'll have a great time.
