So acclaimed genre director Sam Raimi is going to be returning to Marvel in a big way, after he confirmed he'd be working on the MCU's DOCTOR STRANGE sequel DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS (presumably as director), which Kevin Feige has said will be the first Marvel film to contain real horror elements (though to what extent remains to be seen, and is rumored to be the main contention that led to the original film's director – Scott Derrickson – to leave the project).
However, while many fans know Raimi for his awesome SPIDER-MAN films (which still hold up), they also know him for directing the awesome EVIL DEAD horror trilogy (which even got an homage in his SPIDER-MAN 2 film during Doc Ock's attack on the hospital).
With that in mind, Saudi Arabia-based freelance artist spdrmnkyxxiii posted an awesome mash-up of Raimi's upcoming DOCTOR STRANGE film and the original poster design for EVIL DEAD film from 1981. Take a look:
Pretty cool, I say.
Meanwhile, Raimi's DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS, which stars Benedict Cumberbatch as the titular Doctor Strange, Elizabeth Olson as Scarlet Witch in an expanded role, and introducing Mahershala Ali as Blade, has been pushed back to March 25th, 2022 (though even that date might be tenuous).
But what do you guys think? And are you excited for Raimi's return to the Marvel Universe? Either way, sound off below!
