Two years ago, it was announced that comedian Ilana Glazer would be writing and starring in a horror film called False Positive (described as "a contemporary take on Rosemary's Baby") for A24. I have been intrigued by this project ever since – and now it has been revealed when False Positive is going to be available to watch on the Hulu streaming service. It's making its premiere on Friday, June 25th.
Scripted by Glazer and director John Lee, False Positive has the following synopsis:
After months of trying and failing to get pregnant, Lucy (Ilana Glazer) and Adrian (Justin Theroux) finally find their dream fertility doctor in the illustrious Dr. Hindle (Pierce Brosnan). But after becoming pregnant with a healthy baby girl, Lucy begins to notice something sinister through Hindle's gleaming charm, and she sets out to uncover the unsettling truth about him, and her own “birth story.” As if getting pregnant weren't complicated enough…
Glazer, Theroux, and Brosnan are joined in the cast by Gretchen Mol, Sophia Bush, and Josh Hamilton.
Glazer and Lee produced the film with Jonathan Wang.
Along with the release date announcement comes the unveiling of some (surprisingly low quality) first look images, which can be seen below.
