UPDATE: The Ezra Miller saga took an even darker turn today when news surfaced (via The Daily Beast) that a woman and her 12 year old were granted a temporary restraining order against the actor. The report says in February Miller had an disagreement with the child’s mother over a question of cultural appropriation. Miller then began speaking about the “Rastafarian origins” of Parcheesi ,and when challenged on those claims Miller apparently started raging, opening the jacket the actor was wearing to reveal a gun. Here is the Daily Beast quote:
“Then they opened up their jacket—they had this, like, big Sherpa jacket—and they opened up one side of their jacket, you could see a gun, and they said, ‘Talking like that could get you into a really serious situation.’”
Things escalated when Miller began acting inappropriately towards the child, and it was alleged that Miller was wearing a bulletproof vest. Indeed, the case is quickly spiralling out of control, with Miller seeming more troubled every day. I mean, an argument over Parcheesi led to a gun being shown? Where will this end?
ORIGINAL POST:
The curious case of Ezra Miller continues to get even more bizarre. The Flash actor seems to have deleted Instagram after making posts referring to rumors that the authorities haven’t been able to locate Miller to serve the actor with papers regarding an emergency protective order. The parents of an 18-year-old girl have accused Miller of grooming their daughter by using physical and emotional abuse and even though the daughter has posted Instagram videos denying the claims, finding Miller has proven to be a daunting task.
As reported by The Direct, Miller seemingly taunted legal authorities by posting various memes that alluded to the Flash character of Barry Allen, who Miller is playing in WB’s upcoming hoped-for blockbuster. The messages included in the posts include, “You cannot touch me I am in another universe” and “Message from another dimension.” Warner Bros. has been virtually silent about Miller’s recent behavior but I wonder if the vague reference to The Flash in the post will make the studio issue some kind of statement about where they stand on what Miller has been accused of as of late. In addition to the Flash quips, Miller also posted a message that was a bit more detailed:
“I am shielded from negative people & their ill intent. My spirit, mind, body, soul + success are not altered by anyone’s envy. I am protected from all negative [illegible] people attempt to throw at me. Subconsciously & consciously. I clear any & all hidden peers who are hidden enemies.”
The memes were posted on Miller’s since-deleted Instagram account but The Direct did catch some screen grabs of an Instagram story where the actor posted a total of five of them. Here are two of the stranger ones:
WB’s position on all of this continues to grow more complex because they are in a very tough position as to what to do about Ezra Miller. Once Miller’s problems and arrests in Hawaii became public back in March, this seemed like a PR nightmare that the studio could get around with some time and maybe some professional help for Miller. Now that these grooming allegations keep spreading and Miller seems to be alluding being contacted by authorities, the studio must be feeling pressure to comment or take action. As of this writing, Warner Bros. hasn’t commented on any of the recent allegations but I’m sure the executives over there are too busy pulling their hair out as they try to figure out what to do next.
