Damn, Extrapolations! Save some actors for the rest of Hollywood. Apple TV+ has released a new trailer for Extrapolations, an eight-episode sci-fi series that features an absolutely stacked cast, including Meryl Streep, Edward Norton, Kit Harington, Tobey Maguire, Matthew Rhys, Gemma Chan, and many more.
Now, what is the series all about? Extrapolations comes to us from writer, director, and executive producer Scott Z. Burns (Contagion) as it introduces a near future world in which the chaotic effects of climate change have become embedded into our everyday lives. “Eight interwoven stories about love, work, faith and family from across the globe will explore the intimate, life-altering choices that must be made when the planet is changing faster than the population,” reads the official description. “Every story is different, but the fight for our future is universal. And when the fate of humanity is up against a ticking clock, the battle between courage and complacency has never been more urgent. Are we brave enough to become the solution to our own undoing before it’s too late?” So we’ve been to Mars, cured cancer, developed advanced technology… but we’re still destroying our own planet? Sounds about right.
The sheer amount of talent that Scott Z. Burns was able to assemble for Extrapolations is pretty damn impressive. Take a deep breath and away we go. The cast of the series includes Meryl Streep, Sienna Miller, Kit Harington, Daveed Diggs, Edward Norton, Diane Lane, Tahar Rahim, Yara Shahidi, Matthew Rhys, Gemma Chan, David Schwimmer, Adarsh Gourav, Keri Russell, Marion Cotillard, Forest Whitaker, Eiza González, Murray Bartlett, Indira Varma, Tobey Maguire, MaameYaa Boafo, Hari Nef, Heather Graham, Michael Gandolfini, Cherry Jones, Gaz Choudhry, Ben Harper, Judd Hirsch, and Neska Rose. Phew, that’s quite the lineup. Apple TV has been on fire lately, with plenty of great projects on the horizon, including the highly anticipated third season of Ted Lasso.
The first three episodes of Extrapolations will debut on Apple TV+ on March 17th, with new episodes dropping every Friday through to April 21st. What did you think of the trailer for Extrapolations? Will you be watching?
