We're now just days away from the debut of Star Trek: Discovery, which will mark the franchise's return to television after an absence of over a decade. Although much of its production has been accompanied by mixed reactions towards just about everything, including the time-period, costumes, sets, and choice of cast, the recent red-carpet Hollywood premiere of the first episodes were met with fairly positive reactions. But, proper reviews of Star Trek: Discovery will remain under embargo until the series officially launches on September 24th, which means that most of us will likely be experiencing Discovery for the first time together. Personally, I can't wait, and I've got my fingers crossed that Discovery will prove to be epic, thought-provoking, and full of great characters; everything a Star Trek series should be.
Taking place a decade before the events of The Original Series, Star Trek: Discovery stars Sonequa Martin-Green (The Walking Dead) as Michael Burnham, a brilliant Starfleet first officer, as well as the first human educated on Vulcan, who's forced to make an impossibly difficult decision which impacts the entire Federation. Jason Isaacs, Michelle Yeoh, Doug Jones, James Frain, and many more also star in the upcoming series.
Star Trek: Discovery will debut on CBS on September 24th before moving to CBS All Access.
