It looks like Gravitas Ventures has snatched up the U.S. rights to Jason DeVan's exorcism thriller ALONG CAME THE DEVIL. The new exorcism movie stars Sydney Sweeney (THE HANDMAID'S TALE, SHARP OBJECTS, UNDER THE SILVER LAKE) along with Jessica Barth (TED, TED 2), Matt Dallas (KYLE XY), Madison Lintz (THE WALKING DEAD), Heather DeVan (MINDLESS), and Bruce Davison (X-MEN).
Gravitas Ventures’ VP of sales and marketing Laura Florence:
Gravitas is excited to be working with the talented filmmaking team at DeVan Clan Productions to bring this story to the screen.
The film was previously going by the title TELL ME YOUR NAME, and I think that ALONG CAME THE DEVIL is a better title, personally. Even if it sounds a bit too much like the neo-classic Spanish sex-horror movie HERE COMES THE DEVIL. But it's all good, I guess.
Inspired by true events, Sweeney plays:
A young woman who, after a troubled childhood, unwittingly invites in a demonic force — leaving her loved ones battling for her soul.
ALONG CAME THE DEVIL was directed by Jason DeVan, who crafted the story and co-wrote the script with Heather DeVan and Dylan Matlock. The film is produced by Jason DeVan and wife Heather DeVan under their DeVan Clan banner along with Matlock, and executive produced by Kenneth C. Dunn. ALONG CAME THE DEVIL will be in theaters and available on demand on August 10th.
