Cinedigm Corp has acquired all U.S. and Canadian rights to the supernatural thriller DEVIL'S NIGHT: DAWN OF THE NAIN ROUGE from Kyyba Films and SLK Media Group, and they're planning to give the film a Digital and DVD release on June 23rd. A month out from the release, we're proud to share the EXCLUSIVE first look at the film's trailer, embedded above.
Directed and produced by Sam Logan Khaleghi, who also stars in the film, DEVIL'S NIGHT: DAWN OF THE NAIN ROUGE follows
a pair of local police officers from a small town just outside of Detroit being plagued by mysterious murders. As the evidence mounts up, they can no longer deny the presence of a long forgotten supernatural entity, the Nain Rouge, the city’s harbinger of doom.
Sam Logan Khaleghi had this to say about the film's inception and what we can expect!
I wanted to craft a character story about this young woman, who's a returning veteran, finding her place with her small town police department outside of a big city, but setting it around the circumstances of a creature of urban legend from Detroit. I realized many cities have their own version of it, and their own folklore. If you like police/crime thrillers and creature features, I think this may be for you. I am truly elated to be working with the team at Cinedigm as they take the reins on our urban legend from Motown and bring it to a larger audience. It’s an amalgam of mystery, action and drama with a dash of creature feature thrills. I was aiming at creating a fun night out, or in, depending on how you're viewing the picture.
Khaleghi is joined in the cast by Jesi Jensen and Nathan Kane Mathers – who happens to be the brother of Eminem/Marshall Mathers. Swifty McVay, Eminem's former bandmate in D12, appears in the film and provided some original music. Aaron Herman Russman wrote the screenplay.
Cinedigm's Yolanda Macias had this to say about the film:
Director Sam Logan Khaleghi and his team have crafted a suspenseful, edge-of-your-seat thriller that explores the dark forces – both human and not – that leave behind a bizarre trail of murders. Featuring a strong female lead who is also a military veteran, the film’s dramatic exploration of larger social and moral conflicts in a Detroit community adds further resonance and weight to its bone-chilling scares and truly terrifying ending."
Khaleghi added:
I’m truly elated to be working with the team at Cinedigm as they take the reins on our urban legend from Motown and bring it to a larger audience,” says Khaleghi. “It’s an amalgam of mystery, action and drama with a dash of creature feature thrills."
