Overall, the picks for the 86th Academy Awards were fair. One of the most puzzling in my own opinion was not a nomination that was missing but one that no one had even heard of. In the category for “Best Original Song” there are picks from DESPICABLE ME 2, FROZEN, HER, MANDELA: LONG WALK TO FREEDOM, and ALONE YET NOT ALONE…wait, what? ALONE YET NOT ALONE? What about Lana Del Rey’s “Young & Beautiful” or Coldplay’s “Atlas”?
That aside, where were the Oscar noms for Robert Redford for ALL IS LOST? Or Joaquin Phoenix and Spike Jonze for HER? What about the major snubs for the Coen brothers’ INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS?
Well, we didn’t forget about those who were snubbed. Our very own Nick Bosworth has put together a tribute to those who just missed the cut. We love you, Tom Hanks.
