One new film that is now building up some momentum is GUT, a new horror-thriller from writer/director Elias.
We are certainly excited for the film; it was only last month that we brought you the chilling trailer. The film started production in October of 2009, and it was shot over 27 days on a Canon EOS 7D HDSLR. It had a modest budget of around $35,000 and it is quite obvious from the trailer and these exclusive new pictures we have for you, that the money was used wisely. It certainly looks like a bigger budgeted film than it was, fantastic work from everyone involved to achieve that.
Synopsis: Something is missing in Tom’s life. His marriage has lost its spark, his job is suffocating him, and his childhood best friend Dan still clings to the past. Every day he goes through the motions, detached from all those around him. As Tom grows increasingly distant, Dan tries unsuccessfully to turn back time with offers of beer, junk food, and late night horror movie marathons.
Finally Dan thinks he has the solution, a mysterious video Tom’s got to see to believe… tonight. What Dan shows him leaves Tom unsettled, flooding his mind with disturbing images and desires, and binding the two friends together with its ugly secret.
As Tom tries desperately to forget what he saw, his mounting feelings of guilt and disillusionment quickly give way to paranoia and fear. One video soon follows another and another, blurring the line between reality and voyeuristic fascination, and threatening to dismantle everything around them.
The film stars Jason Vail, Nicholas Wilder, Sarah Schoofs, Kristianna and Kaitlyn Mueller, Angie Bullaro, Maria Victoria, Karl Pfeiffer and Miles Joris-Peyrafitte.
