Exclusive – Kiefer Sutherland, Boyd Holbrook and more talk The Fugitive!

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

It's not easy to take on a hugely popular and familiar story and make it relevant again. And frankly, Quibi attempting a new take on a popular television series from the xixties – one that became a massive theatrical experience starring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones – could have been a messy disappointment. Spoiler alert, it's not. It's something special. The latest iteration of The Fugitive is a captivatingly fast-paced thriller. The very talented Kiefer Sutherland and Boyd Holbrook bring their A-game to this crackling hot new show. With an impressive cast, Quibi’s The Fugitive is well worth strapping in for the ride.

Recently we had the chance to join this fine group of actors on Zoom to chat about the new series. And Sutherland and Holbrook couldn't have been nicer. Kiefer talked about starting a series like this compared to being part of one of the most important television shows of the past few decades with 24. For Boyd, the actor discussed taking on a role that will undoubtedly find a comparison to both Harrison Ford and David Janssen. Even still, this is a different take  – as well as a different character – on the story of an innocent man on the run. The two also discussed how conventional it felt to be a part of this production shooting wise, even if it's far from your typical viewing experience.

For my next interview, the second the screen opened up and I found Genesis Rodriguez, Tiya Sircar, and Natalie Martinez waiting with a smile, I was already happy with the chat. The three were beyond wonderful to talk with. They discussed taking on a different kind of television series, and getting the chance to play three very strong and exciting characters. They also opened up about being a part of this world, one that – much like their co-stars – didn't feel very different shooting a series presented as short, eight-minute episodes as opposed to the regular forty-five. They did mention that every single episode features a cliffhanger, and they aren't wrong. This is a brilliant and talented group of actors, and all of them make it very worthwhile to check out this new Quibi action thriller. The new take on this classic story is available now. Make a run for The Fugitive.
