No one plays a cinematic madman quite like genre icon and fan favorite Kane Hodder. That's why we're always interested to hear what the man who stars as HATCHET's Victor Crowley and was everyone's favorite Jason Voorhees is up to. Today we have EXCLUSIVE word that Mr. Hodder has signed on for a new horror film that sounds like it could have the makings of a genre classic. Read on!
Kane Hodder is now attached to director Eric Forsberg's MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT (written by Christopher M. Don and Katherine Bell. Its based on an original story by Don), which aims to give a rebirth to the slasher genre. The synopsis is as follows:
On the cusp of New Year‘s Eve, seven friends and a mysterious backpacker converge at a desolate ski lodge in the mountains when they are systematically hunted down by ruthless masked men with a cryptic agenda.
Hodder is onboard to portray the main villain Angus, who has the following description:
A legend that most people are afraid to speak of. Even whispers of his name sends chills down the spines of vacationers and the surrounding community. Twenty years ago, a series of fatalities struck a small community at a ski resort. Now, the murders are happening again. Angus, a victim of childhood bullying, is a grizzled man that remains camouflaged in the shadows and his natural surroundings until it’s time to strike. He’s a beast of a man. A force to be reckoned with. The camouflage and hunter’s attire that he wears is like a second skin to him. He vengefully stalks and hunts his prey like the trophies he keeps on his walls.
We've also gotten word that composer Harry Manfredini, who has delivered some of the most iconic scores in horror history (including the classic FRIDAY THE 13th), is onboard to handle the score for MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT.
The film is based on a story by Christopher Don with the screenplay written by Don and Katherine Bell.
Sounds like the producers are putting together one helluva team for this one. We'll keep you posted on news regarding MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT as we hear it!
