I had always heard Vin Diesel was an “interesting” guy in person, but I must admit I wasn’t quite prepared for what I got when I met the man at the junket for THE LAST WITCH HUNTER. Diesel, it is probably known, was once a very big Dungeons & Dragons enthusiast, and while he doesn’t play as much as he used to, it became very evident at the start of our conversation that he hasn’t at all forgotten his D&D past. If you’re wondering what the game’s relevance is, you’ll just have to watch the interview, which is, like Diesel himself, rather interesting.
Elijah Wood is one of the biggest horror nerds working in the mainstream today. Wood, who was once simply known for his childhood roles and those hobbit movies, has turned himself into a producer of interesting genre films, with COOTIES, GIRL WALKS HOME ALONE AT NIGHT and THE BOY under his belt in that capacity. It figures, then, that he’d continue making horror a priority on the other side of the camera: Wood stars in THE LAST WITCH HUNTER as Dolan 37th, the latest in a long line of priests who act as assistants to Vin Diesel‘s immortal witch slayer. In the below interview, Wood and I speak about NYCC, his role in the film and getting physical with Diesel!
