As someone who rarely gets to interview celebrities, being based in Montreal (not exactly a hotbed of junkets), travelling to film festivals and occasionally sitting down to talk with actors I admire is a real treat. Over the last few years, Matthew McConaughey has really emerged as one of my favourite leading men, so when the chance emerged to talk to him and director Yann Demange about their new film, WHITE BOY RICK, a fact-based account of the real-life teen drug dealer, I jumped at the chance. Both men had much to say about the gangster movie genre and Rick himself, while I also had the chance to talk to the great Bel Powley, newcomer Richie Merritt (who makes his screen debut as the title character) and the up-and-coming Jonathan Majors, who plays the infamous drug lord Johnny Curry.
