One of the guys I've always enjoyed talking to the most during my time with JoBlo.com is definitely Jay Baruchel, who, in recent years, has turned into one heck of a great director with GOON: LAST OF THE ENFORCERS and his new horror flick, RANDOM ACTS OF VIOLENCE. A hardcore film-buff, here Jay discusses what influenced him on this ultra-dark thriller, including his love of Michael Mann, graphic novels, and the intensity of his star, the great Jesse Williams. And, of course, knowing what a fan Baruchel was of BATMAN V SUPERMAN, I had to ask him what he thought of the fact that ZACK SNYDER'S JUSTICE LEAGUE is finally on the way, with him saying he's perhaps more excited for this than he would be if they even found the legendary lost reel of Orson Welles' THE MAGNIFICENT AMBERSONS! It's a great watch, and check out the trailer below for RANDOM ACTS OF VIOLENCE, which comes out in Canada July 31st, and will premiere on Shudder in the U.S/UK/Ireland August 20th. It's a thought-provoking, nasty ride (review coming soon!).
