One of my favorite sitcoms from the past decade is It's Always Sunny in Philidelphia. The scripts we're incredibly sharp and the cast was perfect. This hilarious series made me a massive fan of everyone involved, especially Glenn Howerton. While Mr. Howerton is a talented actor in any genre, I'm always excited to see him go for the laughs. And on Peacock, you can catch him bringing on the humor in the third season of A.P. Bio. The series features a terrific cast that includes Paula Pell, Lyric Lewis, Mary Sohn, Jean Villepique, and Patton Oswalt in addition to Mr. Howerton.
While I was only vaguely familiar with the series, I had the chance to check it out before the interview. This cast was truly impressive. First up I spoke with Lyrci, Mary, and Jean, and they were a breath of fresh air. The trio opened up about the new season. I mean, theses three can turn a colonoscopy into a party. One thing that was very clear was that they all appear to thoroughly enjoy working together. The three are honestly just as compatible in real life as they appear to be on the series.
As for Paula, I've been familiar with her work as one of the staff writers for SNL. Ms. Pell can do it all, she's an actress, a writer, a singer, no wonder she's so perfect as Patton Oswalt's quirky assistant on A.P. Bio. She opened up about finding the humor as a writer, and as well as her work on the new series. We discussed one particularly clever episode that involved a class ring saleswoman that both Pell's "Helen" and Oswalt's "Principal Durbin" both develop a crush on. The two actors are perfect together.
And finally, we spoke to Mr. Glenn Howerton. The first thing that came to mind sitting face to face (via Zoom) was how many non-comedic roles I've enjoyed this talented actor take on. When I mentioned that to him, he talked about comedy and how he never saw himself as a comedic actor. Yet here he is bringing a ton of guffaws to the small screen. One thing we didn't get to talk enough about was our mutual love of movies. He was excited to see the many movie posters hanging on my wall, and it's clear he knows his stuff. If you're a fan of any of these fine actors, I highly recommend you check out the third season of A.P. Bio today on Peacock!
